Every day, at this retreat, the seven aspects are awakened through the seven foundational pathways of āsana: gentle, relaxing, meditative, harmonisation of body and breath prāṇāyāma: techniques that progressively guide the practitioner into deeper and subtler awareness of the breath japa: the repetition of a mantra following the classical order of recitation philosophy study of the Yoga Sutra in relation to the pitfalls of the mind and discussions around these ideas veda adhyayanam one pointed engagement of the mind with sound voice culture & music opening the voice and releasing hidden tensions while singing the scales of Indian rāga with simple exercises and songs bhajan/kīrtan: devotional singing in a group, of songs that pine for union and declare one's surrender to the supreme.
